Toys R Us / Hot Topic Boutique in Time Square

Screen hanging over the “boutique” – possibly to show scenes/trailer/etc?

Team Jacob shirt reads “It’s a wolf thing.” Team Edward reads, “…what would I do without you?”

Jacob & Bella’s dirtbikes – OFFICIAL bikes used in the film!

TONS of merch – new Volturi shirts (you can see Jane and Caius in this picture), dolls, fleece blankets, lunch boxes, etc.

For the ultimate Team Edward fan!

REAL Volturi chairs – OFFICIAL CHAIRS FROM THE SET! We were informed by an employee that they will be hung up above the “boutique” to keep customers and Twi-Hards alike from sitting on, touching, and potentially destroying them.

Cullen baseball hats = AWESOME!

The Alice shirt reads “I saw him going to the Volturi.” They also had Cullen crest and wolfpack tattoo baseball tees.

Alright, here’s the scoop we got from a Toys R Us employee who just so happened to be a total TwiHard herself (made it easier to pry information out of her!):

– This exclusive Hot Topic/New Moon “boutique” is not currently open to the public. It is believed to be opening this weekend, possibly as early as tomorrow. The Volturi chairs still need to be hung and they haven’t finished stocking the shelves and putting out all the merch (yes, there is MORE than what you see!).

– The dirtbikes and Volturi chairs are OFFICIAL from the New Moon set in Vancouver – they are inaccessible to the public. Basically, they are a “look don’t touch” type of deal. As mentioned above, the Volturi chairs will be hung up high out of reach of the public.

– This exclusive Hot Topic/New Moon “boutique” will run through December – which means you better get there ASAP!

– THERE IS NO NEW MOON EVENT PLANNED FOR THIS LOCATION. We spoke to not only our TwiHard employee friend, but about three or four other employees and no one even knew what we were talking about. Does this mean that an event will not be announced in the future? No! It means that Toys R Us is being sneaky. We all saw Times Square on the list – and then it magically disappeared. While it is completely possible that plans have changed, as they do, we’re thinking this will be a super top-secret event. Don’t worry – we are keeping on top of this for you!

Even without a cast event planned here, you need to go check this out. The entire “boutique” is about the size of a Hot Topic store itself – if Hot Topic ONLY sold Twilight/New Moon merch! It is basically your one-stop TwiHard shop.

Taylor Lautner on Jay Leno

The days before “New Moon” is released are getting awfully packed with promotional appearances by its principal cast members. Gossip Cop can add another big one to the list.

Gossip Cop has just confirmed Taylor Lautner will be a guest on “The Jay Leno Show” on November 16, which will tape just a few hours before the world premiere of “New Moon” in Los Angeles.

So for those of you keeping tabs on Jacob, here’s what we know about his week:

November 16 – “The Jay Leno Show” and the world premiere of “New Moon” in Los Angeles

November 17 – special Knoxville, TN charity screening

And then in New York, of course, Lautner’s got “The Today Show” on November 20 and “Live with Regis and Kelly.” He’ll also appear the night the movie opens on a pre-taped “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Xavier Samuel Still in Vancouver

Even though some of his Eclipse costars like Rob and Kristen have left Canada for California, Xavier Samuel was still up in rainy Vancouver yesterday afternoon. It seemed like he was taking care of some last-minute business, as he ran errands and hit the mailbox. It wasn’t all chores, though, as Xavier stopped to chat and pose for a photo with a local Twilight fan. Since Xavier’s character is a new addition to the third film in the series, he’ll likely be sitting out most of the upcoming New Moon promotion, but we’ll have lots to see from his busy costars.

New Moon’ Director Chris Weitz Hasn’t Seen ‘Eclipse’ Footage

With filming on “Eclipse” wrapping up, we couldn’t resist asking “New Moon” director Chris Weitz whether he had seen any of the footage from next summer’s blockbuster. He hadn’t, he said, because he’s been busy working hard to bring fans “New Moon,” which hits theaters in less than a month. Surprisingly, he said he didn’t really want to see the footage yet.

“As a fan and a filmmaker, I’m excited to see finished stuff from ‘Eclipse’ rather than anything in progress,” Weitz said. “When you see works in progress, there’s always some guy standing in front of some big green curtain, and it’s all terribly disappointing. You really want to see the good stuff once it’s all finished.”

After “New Moon” was finished filming , Summit Entertainment announced thatDavid Slade would be directing “Eclipse.”Weitz said he had some early chats with Slade to let him know what “New Moon” was going to look like and how he had filmed the story, and then let Slade decide how he wanted to film the series’ third installment.

“It was like the transition team, so I could kind of let him know where things are going,” Weitz said. “The transfer of power was very successful. The transition teams coordinated extremely well.”

But Weitz said he had no such discussion with “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke. (Granted, Weitz was announced as the “New Moon” director after “Twilight” was released.) Instead, he had long conversations with author Stephenie Meyer to make sure she thought he was the right director for the job and to make sure he captured her ideas of “New Moon” correctly.

In addition to it being Meyer’s movie, he said it was also a fan’s movie, and it was to the fans and Meyer that he felt he owed the most allegiance.

“[I] was reading the book and really trying to pay attention to what I thought the devoted reader would want out of the film,” he said. “And I thought, ‘Well, they want something grand.’ ”

“New Moon” will be much more of a blockbuster film than Hardwicke’s indie take on “Twilight,” Weitz confirmed. But he made sure to clarify that it won’t be a blockbuster in the “Transformers” sense — there won’t be objects exploding left and right — but in the classic “Doctor Zhivago” or “Seven Samurai” way.

“I think that Catherine Hardwicke had a very current pop sensibility and rock sensibility. I’m a complete square,” Weitz said with a laugh. “[‘New Moon’ has] more of an old-school ethic, which won’t mean very much to most of the fans that are watching it, but in terms of how we set about shooting it, it probably feels a bit more like my sad attempt to echo David Lean or [Akira] Kurosawa or something like that.”

Kristen Stewart And Taylor Lautner: Studio Stop

Having just arrived back in Tinseltown from Vancouver, Kristen Stewart was spotted out at a local Malibu studio with Taylor Lautner on Friday (October 30).

The “Twilight” co-stars are currently gearing up for promotional duties tied to the November 20th release of “New Moon” – as they were at the studio to watch the final cut of the vampire flick.

Chatting with Entertainment Tonight about the upcoming release, Taylor said, “‘New Moon’ is going to be stepped up a whole other notch. The whole Wolf Pack is very tightly bound—they are very close.”

Agreeing with her pal, Miss Stewart tells, “There’s something about the wolves, it’s such a different movie, all of a sudden this completely new world has been introduced. It’s more animalistic, more violent.”

Rachelle LeFevre To Go on Promotional ‘New Moon’ Tour

Although she lost her role as vampire Victoria for the “Eclipse” movie,Rachelle Lefevre still plans to hit the promotional festivities for “New Moon”.

Of the upcoming “New Moon” premiere scheduled for November 16th in Los Angeles, an insider tells Life & Style, “She’ll be there.”

The source adds, “She worked so hard—she wouldn’t miss it for the world. She’s looking forward to reuniting with her New Moon castmates.”

Having been replaced in the “Twilight” saga by Bryce Dallas Howard this summer, Rachelle was previously guaranteed tickets to the red carpet event, with the “Twilight” source telling, “It’s always been her decision whether to go. And Rachelle’s decided she wants to.”

Robert Pattinson’s Pre-‘Twilight’ Audition Tape For ‘How To Be’: Check Out A Preview

When a 20-year-old Robert Pattinson auditioned for the role of Art, a struggling singer/songwriter, in the indie comedy“How to Be,” he certainly had personal experience to bring to the character. Though the British actor had appeared in the “Harry Potter” franchise, he had not yet broken through to superstardom, as he would after being selected to become Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” franchise.

Thus the audition footage that accompanies the upcoming “How to Be” DVD — and which Access Hollywood posted a short clip of on Thursday — is a fascinating insight into the way RPattz’s life used to be, as well as the process by which he creates a character.

The clip shows a scraggily-haired Rob in a t-shirt as he tries multiple characterizations of Art to nail some dialogue. He shifts from dejected and insecure to goofy and bemused, attempting to find the most suitable approach for a scene in which Art visits his childhood bedroom.

“I feel it’s all wrong,” he confesses at one point.

When he goes for a slapsticky entrance into the room, someone off screen quickly instructs, “OK, stop!”

Another scene shows Rob’s nose stuffed with tissue to simulate how Art would deliver lines after getting beat up. In the movie, Art is suffering after a breakup and decides to move back in with his parents and hire a full-time self-help guru to help him work through the pain.

“How to Be” premiered on demand on IFC Festival Direct in April 29, a day after the release of the soundtrack, featuring three original tunes from Robert. The DVD, which includes the entire audition tape, is set for a November 17 release, strategically three days before the theatrical opening of“New Moon,” the second of Pattinson’s “Twilight” films.

Good news though: You’ll be able to see the entire 8-minutes of Robert’s audition right here on Hollywood Crush in the coming weeks before the DVD’s release. So stay tuned!

Vanity Fair Twilight Watch: A Conversation With Kellan Lutz

klutz.jpg

What books have your cast members recommended to you that you would recommend to others?

[Addressing Jackson Rathbone, who is also in the room:] Jackson, what’s that book that you recommended? Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis, which I’m going to read next. Jackson’s reading my Kindle right now; I’m passing along Letters from the Earth.

What’s the one thing that has changed in your life since Twilight came out?

I’ve never been so busy in my life. I’ve never gotten my frequent flyer miles so high that I feel like I can travel around the world for free. I’ve been on a plane every weekend trying to come back to L.A. to see my dog. I feel like I’ve been so blessed to be working, but everything I shoot is out of L.A., so I don’t really have too much time to spend with my number one love: my puppy. (She’s not really a puppy—she’s five—but she’s close to my heart.) We have so much press stuff that we get to do—I love doing the conventions and meeting the fans. November’s going to be pretty crazy, what with being on a plane every day, landing, appearances, flying to another city that night … It’s a roller coaster.

How do you guys cope with all of this?

We all have our passions that we enjoy. Rob and Jackson will bring their guitars everywhere. As long as you have that passion where you can just disappear and be normal, feel normal, bring your iPod or favorite books, and just do the things that you would do when Twilight wasn’t around—that’s all keeping us who we are. We’re all really blessed, and we’re humble and down to earth, anyway.

Do you find that as a cast you’re leaning on each other even more?

Yeah, definitely. It’s one of those things where we kind of are this family, especially going through all this. We’re all going on this insane adventure and fantasy as an actor with Twilight, and it’s nice to do it with someone. We’re all friends, which is nice, so we can all go out to dinner, have a great time, relax, play games, go out to concerts. Kings of Leon have been up here, Jason Mraz … It’s nice to disappear and do stuff together. All of our friends are back home, and we try to have our friends come up here and hang out. But realistically it’s kind of tough to do that, so it’s nice to have the cast members to count on. That’s the great thing about this franchise—we hopefully get to look forward to making all of the books, so you never have to really say goodbye [to each other] like you do with other projects. You get to say, “See you soon,” or, “See you in L.A.” We get to pick up where we left off.

How do the Cullens rev each other up before shooting a scene?

We really have everything down. We dissect it through rehearsals before we go about it. When we’re on set, we kind of joke around, and when we’re rehearsing, we change up the scenes and make each other laugh. We lighten up the mood. The blooper reel is going to be amazing on New Moon.

Is there going to be a blooper reel?

Hopefully. They probably have more material for the blooper reel than they have movie material. (Laughs)

What scenes have been the most fun to shoot?

Well, the scenes that the Cullens are in are very crucial and epic. The scenes in New Moon are very close to the book. What we Cullens deal with—like the birthday scene—are very crucial for the audience; they’re going to be there with us. They’re all my favorites, but particularly Jackson, when he turns bloodthirsty in the birthday scene.

Have you seen New Moon yet?

Yeah, I love it. Chris Weitz did an amazing job, and I love the werewolves. There’s so much action, and I’m an action junkie, so the wolves really do a great job. Taylor [Lautner] is amazing. He’s a movie star. Fans are going to see this over and over again because of what he brings to the movie.

What’s your take on the millions of fans who are getting rabidly excited about the release?

It’s really fun to be these characters, bring them to life, and have them [the fans] accept us. It’s very humbling to have fans that spend so much money to come and see us, which is great to give them a piece of what they’re allowing us to do. We’re so blessed that our fans are so loving. It’s fun talking to them about how they relate to characters in the story. My sister and my mom, for instance—it’s great to see how these books really draw mothers and daughters together. It’s an adventure they can all go on. Then they bring the husbands, and the brothers, and everyone gets swooped up into this magical experience.

Are your mom and sister big fans of the saga?

Very much. My sister is one of the most popular girls in school now because she has a brother in Twilight (laughs), and she’s sharing stories about me, which are kind of funny. It’s really an actor’s dream to be a part of this. It’s opened up a lot of doors.

In regards to your career, you just did the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. What was that like?

I looooove that movie. I was just excited to be a part of it. It’s Freddy! it’s one of those characters that frightened me growing up. Jason [from Friday the 13th] didn’t really scare me; Chucky [from Child’s Play] didn’t scare me. But there’s something about Freddy. It’s more of a psychological thriller.

Is the new one going to take it to a different level?

Definitely. It’s great that all of these movies are coming back. For my generation—ten years ago when this came out—it was really scary. I think everything has to step it up to the tenth degree to scare the new generation because there’s all this gore, now. You have the Saw movies, all of these twisted movies that are done to scare you. Now you have Paranormal Activity—these new types of scary movies—and they have to push the limit so you can actually feel the fear. That’s what A Nightmare on Elm Street is going to do. It’s a cool remake of the story, with great actors, directors, and producers …

And Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy, which is awesome.

Jackie’s such a nice guy. It’s an honor to work with him, too. I’ve been a big fan of his for a while.

So, before you go, let’s do some wordplay. I’m going to give you the name of one of your fellow actors, and I need you to give me one word to describe them, starting with Jackson Rathbone [“Jasper Hale”].

Ah, mysterious.

Nikki Reed [“Rosalie Hale”].

Spicy.

Elizabeth Reaser [“Esme Cullen”].

Beautiful.

Peter Facinelli [“Dr. Carlisle Cullen”].

Jokester.

Do you want to guess what word Peter chose for you?

Meathead. Something to do with working out or playing jokes.

He chose “goofy.”

Goofy. (Laughs)

Ok, Ashley Greene [“Alice Cullen”].

Best friend.

Kristen Stewart [“Bella Swan”].

Adventurous.

Taylor Lautner [“Jacob Black”].

Brother-like.

Rob Pattinson [“Edward Cullen”].

Immensely blessed and talented. If you can just hyphen those into one word.
