Justin Chon Speaks

The first thing you need to know about Justin Chon(Eric from the Twilight Saga) is that he’s funny… beyond funny. He should’ve been a standup comic!

I caught up with him recently during the a recent fan event in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and he had the crowd in stitches (watch this video if you don’t believe me). Here’s all the stuff he dished about:

What scene did you do during your audition for Twilight?

I auditioned six times for the role. And we did the first time that Eric meets Bella, a few cafeteria scenes and practicing asking Angela to prom!

Fave “New Moon” moment?

When Mike (Mike Welch) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) are squaring off, seeing Mike scared. Also when I was in the theater the scene when Jacob takes his shirt off, no one was ashamed to WHOO.

Who are you closest to on set?

Mike!

You worked with three different directors. Was there any difference?

Hardwicke offered a lot of freedom where Weitz is more meticulous and specific. Loves having the ultimate freedom that Hardwicke offered. Slade is an amazing director.

What role would you like to play?
There was a movie that came out when I was ten, directed by Clint Eastwood starring Kevin Costner called A Perfect World. I wanted to play that little boy. The movie was very powerful.

Who would you like to costar with?

Tim Roth, Johnny Depp, Mark Ruffalo or Robert Downey, Jr.

What do you do when you aren’t acting?

A cold reading class and voice production class; learning to be a better actor.

Team Edward or Team Jacob?

I like the Team Natives because vampires are cold. But seriously I’m Team everything. I’m like Rodney King: Can’t we all just get along!

Did you know: Justin has only seen New Moon one time… what’s he thinking? Someone buy this guy another ticket!
