Jackson Rathbone to Pay Tribute to Spencer Bell

Jackson Rathbone To Play Tribute To Spencer Bell

Jackson Rathbone is taking over Texas for a good cause — playing tribute to his lost pal Spencer Bell and to raise awareness for adrenal cancer.

100 Monkeys (Jackson’s band) will host a tribute concert this coming April in Dallas, Texas.

The Stevedores, Drew and the Medicinal Pen, and Tin Tin Can are just three of the bands that will join 100 Monkeys to raise awareness for adrenal cancer and celebrate the life and music of Spencer Bell including playing songs from Spencer’s albums.

In addition to hearing great music, fans will also be able enter special contests with prizes that include meeting the band and showing off their artistic abilities at the concert itself. Contests include a music video contest, a t-shirt design contest (which will be sold and produced through the Spencer Bell Legacy Project), a raffle with celebrity donated items, and a special auction.

Check out all the details at Artists Supporting a Cure for Cancer.

Just to note that those who purchase their tickets by January 31, 2010 will be entered into a drawing for balcony seats.
Those who are unable to attend can still participate in the contests and raffle.
Raffle tickets are on sale now.

We have added a very creative contest, one might think it was formed due to one of the band members proclivity to wear a hat. Maybe it was subconsciously on this person’s mind, maybe not. The contest is titled Mad Hatter and details will be posted soon. See the information at the contest page http://www.asccnow.com/contests.html

You may want to know that Kelly Garrett Rathbone will be at the Deep Ellum Arts Festival on April 2-4, 2010 in Dallas, TX. She is creating a collection specifically for this festival and has generously agreed to donate part of her profits to adrenal cancer research. http://www.asccnow.com/events.html

Just found out that a new Spencer Bell CD and a new Spencer Bell Legacy t-shirt will be available at this concert. The CD will also be available at Bamboozle, a music festival held on May 1 and 2 at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in NJ. 100Monkeys will perform there on May 1

    From another forum
Have a hard time waking up in the morning?

Wish 100 Monkeys and Spencer Bell got more radio play??

Tune in Wednesday mornings with me @ wsinradio.org and listen to my college radio show temporarily entitled : “Wake up with me”

I will be incorporating both Spencer and The Monkeys into my play list every week and will play them on air.

    I even take requests.

I’ll play other stuff too, and give you a bit of news/weather etc.

Nothing but music and love here!!!!

the show is 9-10 Wednesdays eastern standard time. But this website streams all over the world 🙂 so anyone who is awake feel free to tune in!

Portrait magazine is having a poll for their March cover and 100Monkeys is on the list. The right hand side of the site, http://www.portraitmagazine.net/ has the place to vote. Only one vote per IP address though. This is the article having 100Monkeys talk about their involvement in Spencer Bell Legacy concert and their tour.

Just a reminder that the auctions for the Spencer Bell Legacy concert go LIVE this Monday. There is an auction for a meet and greet with the bands at the evening show, dinner with the bands, or you can interview them. Go to http://www.sblauctions.com/ to register and then come back on Monday to bid

I mentioned that the auctions for the Spencer Bell Legacy concert are LIVE. What I neglected to say is that you get to bring one friend to share the fun with if you have the winning bid. So it makes sense for you and your friend to pool your resources to have a higher bid
In additon to the auctions, there are items being raffled and you do NOT need to be present to win. One of the items makes me really wish that I am not one of the organizers of this event…..someone will walk away with a signed 100Monkeys band portrait (note that all the bands will have a portrait including The Stevedores!) If you have heard of or been to a Bowling for Soup show, they donated a signed guitar. Simple Plan has donated autographed photos. How about this gem…a Kelly Rathbone one time only designed shirt signed by band. And be sure to check out the designs done for 100Monkeys by Punk You Chucks, because you can have your own unique Spencer Bell Legacy sneakers designed by them. http://punkyourchucks.com/

I wanted to thank everyone who participated in the auctions. It was a success and raised so much for a good cause. You can now vote on the entries for the Mad Hatter contest, go to http://www.asccnow.com/madhatter.html
