While any true “Twilight” fan knows Taylor Lautner was a child martial arts superstar, it wasn’t until his recent gig hosting “SNL” that the rest of the nation got to see his physical capabilities. And, according to Hasbro CEO and “Stretch Armstrong” producer Brian Goldner, it was that exhibition of skill that earned him the role of title Stretch.
“He is a real actor,” Brian told MTV News of Taylor, who showed his allegiance to Hasbro yesterday at the Toy Fair. “And it was so clear to us as we saw him in ‘Twilight.’ And we look for insights from every audience about where we should go with our brands, so when I saw my daughter and all of her friends go crazy for him, and then I saw the background that he was also this mixed martial arts expert in that ‘Saturday Night Live’ piece… that was the real deal.”
The “Stretch Armstrong” deal came shortly after Taylor signed on to bring another toy superhero to the big screen, Mattel’s “Max Steel.” Taylor’s strong fan following and physical attributes were sure to help the decision-making process, but Brian said Taylor’s aerobic capabilities were just one of many parallels he saw between Taylor and Stretch Armstrong. Taylor
“He’s an accidental superhero. Really what he is, is he’s going to be a guy much like himself,” Brian explained. “A guy who knows mixed martial arts, a guy who is going off to college, a guy who’s trying to have a freshman year at college something along those lines and everything kind of ensues from there.”
We doubt with all his upcoming films the newly legal Taylor will have time to become a college undergrad, but still we think the parallels fit. And we’re glad that “SNL’s” cultural impact has extended to earning a deserving young actor one more role to add to his filmography.

Nickelodeon will be celebrating it’s 23rd annual Kids Choice Awards show on March 27 in Los Angeles, and the nominees are in — and boy, are they good!
Hottie Taylor Lautner is nominated for Favorite Movie Actor (both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were snubbed), while “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is up for Favorite Movie.Taylor will be competing with Zac Efron, Shia LaBeouf and Tyler Perry for the award.
Our girl Miley Cyrus is up for a whopping four nominations: Favorite Female Singer, Favorite Movie Actress, Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Song (for “Party in the U.S.A.”). In the movie actress category, Miley is up against Sandra Bullock, Megan Fox and Zoe Saldana . She will also go head to head with Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and her bestie Taylor Swift in the Favorite Female Singer category. Taylor is also up for Favorite Song for “You Belong With Me.”
And who could forget The Jonas Brothers? The boys are up for Favorite Music Group, and Joe and Nick are each up for Favorite TV Actor for their show “JONAS.” Poor Kevin did not receive a nomination, but we’re pretty sure he’s loved just as much.
Kevin James will host the show, which will air live on Nickelodeon at 8 PM ET on March 27, and he’s pretty pumped about it. “In short, I guess you could say hosting the Kids’ Choice Awards completes me,” Kevin told People.
We’re pretty excited about it as well. The magic happens in a little over a month, and you can count on Hollywood Crush to bring you all the latest news and action surrounding the big show!
Happy 21st Birthday to one of our dedicated authors De`. We hope she has an awesomely amazing day; despite all the snow but she does have another snow day so it all evens out.

“The Twilight Saga’s” Jacob Black beat “Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s” Oz in the Teen Wolf category 59 percent to 41 percent, while Anna Paquin‘s Laurie made it into the final four thanks to her she-wolf from “Trick ‘R’ Treat.” Those two will face off Wednesday as the final four is narrowed down to the final two.
Considering the passionate and devoted Joss Whedon fan community, we’re a bit surprised Taylor Lautner beat out Seth Green as a teen wolf. It seems as though the times are indeed a-changing and as we enter a new decade it’s easy to have Jacob Black’s beautiful abs more clearly imprinted on our minds than the now 10-year-old werewolf from “Buffy.”
Anna Paquin didnt have it so easy with the narrowest win margin among the final four, only beating Ginger from “Ginger Snaps” 54 percent to 46 percent. Now we’re back to the time difference, as “Ginger Snaps” was a huge cult hit from 2000, while “Trick ‘R’ Treat” was much beloved after it finally made its way to DVD this past year. Add to that the fact Anna is in the prime of her career thanks to “True Blood,” and you’ve got yourself a winner.
Rounding out the final four are David Kessler from “An American Werewolf in London” and Captain Ryan from “Dog Soldiers” — an American versus a foreign classic.
Both face-offs seem like a bit of a toss-up to us, so share your thoughts below (and vote at FearNet’s site) on who you would vote for and who you think is the most terrifying werewolf of all time.
Oh yum…we hope the New Moon hottie goes shirtless when he leads an all-star team of sexy studs in the 4th Annual DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl Super Bowl weekend
Are you ready to watch avid football fan Taylor Lautner throw around some pigskin Feb 6? If so, book your flights to Miami now, because DirectTV has confirmed to HollywoodLife.com that Twilight’s gorgeous wereboy is leading a pack of Hollywood’s most gorgeous men in a game of flag football in Miami Feb. 6.
The other beautiful boys competing (hopefully alongside and not against Taylor – his muscles are things to be both envied and feared!) are Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, Entourage’sKevin Dillon and Christian Slater, as well as a handful of pro NFL players.
But playing with the greats isn’t Taylor’s only reason for wanting to hit the Bowl. HollywoodLife.com overheard Wolf Boy predicting to Glee star Matthew Morrison at Summit’s Golden Globes party Jan. 17 that he’s confident whichever team brings home the NFC championship this weekend will be the ones to walk away with the Super Bowl ring.
As much as we want to trust your opinion Taylor, how about we make this more interesting? Shall we wager a little bet?
