Twilight Makeup Reveals Volturi Crest

What Robert Pattinson is to Hollywood, “Twilight Beauty” will be to the makeup world.

In other words, brace yourself for mass hysteria.

Stephenie Meyer’s book series and the “Twilight” film saga have inspired a range of beauty products.

You were probably as enraptured as I was by the vampires’ sparkly skin, flushed cheeks and juicy lips (especially Edward Cullen’s).

Talk about blood red! LunaTwilight lipstick. Photo courtesy of Twilight Beauty

So it’s beyond fitting — and frankly, brilliant — that the phenomenon has spawned Twilight Beauty, which consists of two collections.

Creating the movie-tied makeup is Cristina Bartolucci, famous for her innovative beauty brand, DuWop. (Lip Venom ring a bell?)

Word is there will be a special “Twilight” edition of the cult-favorite lip plumper with one half of the tube’s vial’s contents resembling blood.

Better yet, the cast apparently wears the makeup in the second movie installment: “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” out November 20.

I got a sneak peek at both collections, LunaTwilight and Volturi, and while I’m still barely able to catch my breath (major “Twilight” fan here), I’ll hit you with the highlights.

LunaTwilight is the more luxurious of the two offerings — the packaging is heartbreakingly gorgeous and the formulas are more sophisticated than the alternate collection.

I hate to tease you with some of the the product names before they’re available, but let’s be honest, I can’t help myself and you can’t wait: “First Light Body Glow,” “Mortal Glow Blushing Creme” and Color Palettes in “Bella,” “Rosalie,” “Alice” and “Victoria.” (I can’t wait to see “Alice” — she was my favorite.)

Volturi, the other Twilight Beauty collection, will strike a chord with those who’ve read the book.

The Volturi is the most feared and powerful coven of vampires, and that same dark, exciting sensibility can be felt in its products.

The Volturi family crest appears on the packaging and some standouts include “Deity Body Lotion,” “Immortal Body Shimmer” and “Crown Mascara” (shown left).

Everything I’ve seen can only be described as elegant and wicked.

Twilight Beauty will be available on its own site: TwilightBeauty.com, which isn’t live yet and an official launch date for the products has not been announced (though, it looks like it will be timed around the movie’s release), so stay tuned.

OK I love all things Twilight, but this is getting ridiculous!! Please please STOP making everything into a TWILIGHT THEME! But I am glad we get a little peak at the Volturi Crest.

Twilight Cruise: Kellan Out, Alex In

A month ago we told you about the Twilight Fan Cruise to Alaska, well now it looks like Mr. Kellan Lutz will not be joining some of you on the trip. Read the deets below to find out why. Fortunately, you may have a wolfy visitor on the trip by the name of Alex Meraz.

We were just notified that due to a film commitment
Kellan Lutz will not be able to sail on our Alaska Twilight Cruise in 2010. We will try to have him on our 2011 cruise. We have replaced Kellan with Alex Meraz who plays Paul in “New Moon”. Even though the actors have signed contracts to go on the cruise… they have the right to cancel due to a work commitment. We are currently working on signing two other actors so that we will have 4 on the cruise. Thank you for your understanding and we are looking forward to a truly wondrous time in Alaska next summer.

For more info Click Here

I wish I was on this cruise, I am so totally Team Paul these days LOL. =)

Jamie Campbell-Bower Talks New Moon

jcb

Jamie Campbell Bower has joked that he is a “franchise whore” after signing on for both the Twilight saga and the Harry Potter series.

The actor, who plays Caius in vampire sequel New Moon, told DS at last night’s UK premiere of Public Enemies that it was “weird” experiencing the hysteria surrounding co-star Robert Pattinson.

“Rob’s genuinely just a normal guy. It was weird being around it all because we couldn’t go out to dinner because there would be 40 paparazzi and screaming girls waiting for Rob,” he explained.

He added that the movie “looked awesome” and praised director Chris Weitz for doing “a really fantastic job”.

Click below to see Campbell Bower chatting about New Moon co-stars Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Michael Sheen, as well as his role as Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.

Summer School in Forks, Washington?

Vodpod videos no longer available.

FORKS, Washington — If you’re like many “Twilight” fans, you cherish every word of Stephenie Meyer’s novels, gush each time Robert Pattinson runs his fingers through his hair and celebrate the birthdays of the Cullens as if you’re part of the family. But if you haven’t been to Forks, you’re missing out on a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

After all the time that I’ve spent covering the “Twilight” beat for MTV, I was extremely honored to be asked to attend Summer School in Forks: A “Twilight” Symposium, a real-life fan event that allowed Twilighters to attend classes, go to a prom and enjoy field trips around the real-life town that Meyer immortalized by making it home to her beloved characters.

“We’re having Summer School in Forks right now,” beamed Kaleb Nation, a.k.a. the “Twilight” Guy, a popular blogger/author. “We have all these bands up here for the ‘Twilight’ prom. I gave a speech earlier, and we have all these speakers that have been talking about the series. We have the woman who [voices] the audio books here. It’s been an amazing event for a bunch of Twilighters to get together in Forks.”

Driving into the small town (population 3,000), the first things you see are the enormous trees, the gorgeous beaches — and the pouring rain and overcast skies that make it such a perfect place for sexy vampires to call home. Then, when you pull into town, you see a quaint Disneyland for Twilighters: A motel sign screams “Edward Cullen Slept Here,” a local Chinese restaurant features a “Twilight Dinner” and every third storefront sells Robert Pattinson cardboard cutouts, custom-made T-shirts and other “Twilight” trappings.

“I’ve had the flower shop for about 14 years — my mom owned it before me,” explained Charlene Cross, owner of Lepell’s Twilight Central (where an employee dressed as Alice sells lollipops that read “Bite Me” and bumper stickers that say “Warning: I Drive Like a Cullen”). “Business is three times what it normally would be. [Before the novels became popular], when I sold flowers strictly, holidays, funerals, weddings would be a good time. Now it’s a daily thing, and I think it’s only going to get bigger.”

“The town was having some major economic issues, because their major export was logging — and then ‘Twilight’ came along,” Kaleb explained. “And if you look at Forks now, Stephenie has transformed this town into a ‘Twilight’ tourism economy. It’s crazy.”

“None of our students are vampires — at least, not that we’re aware of,” grinned Kevin Rupprecht, the real-life principal of Forks High School, who promised me that he resists the daily temptation to call Edward Cullen to his office over the loudspeaker. “Thousands and thousands of people come through this town, just to see the ‘Twilight’ setting, every month. We do have a couple of lockers, for the fans, that are designated for Edward and Bella. People like that. And we do know which parking spot the almost-accident occurred in. So we direct fans to that; they eat it up.”

Forks High was the site of the Symposium. And although it was fun to see all the fans wearing T-shirts that read “Jasper Says Relax” or fathers dressed up like Carlisle (complete with brown contact lenses), they were here for some serious business.

“We got to listen to a lecture by John Granger, who is the author of many [books about] Harry Potter,” explained Maddi of “Bloodsuckers,” a “Twilight” podcast, who attended Granger’s class on religious themes within the pages of the popular novels. “Stephenie Meyer is a Mormon, and we didn’t realize how much her religion played into the ‘Twilight’ series. … He told us about how Bella and Edward, in the series, represent the relationship between man and God. Edward is God, Bella is man, and when he leaves she feels an absence in her heart. That was really interesting.”

Another interesting part of the weekend was Saturday night’s “prom” in the Forks High gymnasium. With attendees of all ages dressed in their best evening gowns and suits, popular “Twilight” acts the Bella Cullen Project, Bella Rocks and the Mitch Hansen Band sang odes to the Cullen clan. The YouTube sensation Hillywood Players walked amongst them dressed as Bella, Jasper, Alice and Edward — the latter had his shirt open to reveal his chest, naturally. After sniffing a few potential mates, “Edward” chose his dancing partner from among the blushing fans.

“It’s been totally inspirational,” Mitch Hansen said of his first time in Forks, saying that he was moved enough to write some new lyrics. “It’s mind-blowing.”

On Sunday, yours truly got to deliver the keynote speech to the “graduates” during a ceremony that saw them all receiving diplomas. As we stood in the real-deal Forks cafeteria, it was hard to deny the feeling that Edward could come strolling in at any moment, grab a tray of food that he would only poke at and stare longingly at Bella from across the room. As the line between fiction and fact continued to blur, the Twilighters exchanged hugs and phone numbers, taking home the memories of a lifetime along with their diplomas.

“We ended up taking the same flight Bella took to get to Forks in ‘Twilight,’ ” explained Maddi, remembering the journey that she and her friends had taken to get to the tiny town Meyer selected for her novels despite the fact that she had never actually set foot here. “We went from Phoenix to the Seattle airport, then took a puddle-jumper from Seattle to Port Angeles and got to see all the beautiful scenery.

“We ate at Bella Italia, which is where Edward and Bella had their first date. It was pouring — just like it should be — when we got here,” she continued, saying that even when there isn’t a scheduled fan event, Forks is still a Disneyland for Twilighters. “Everywhere you go, you can just imagine Bella and Edward walking down the street in this cozy little town. It really is like being in the home of ‘Twilight.’ “

Eclipse Shooting Dates Revealed

According to multiple sources the Eclipse is set begin production on August 17th and film thru October 31st at Vancouver Film Studios.

Here is the scoop from MTV News:

This seemingly minor blip of news is going to be very exciting for a lot of you readers. The third movie entry in the “Twilight” series, “Eclipse,” will shoot at Vancouver Film Studios between August 17 and October 31 (Halloween wrap!), ComingSoon reports. The David Slade-directed adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s novel will come from a script by series scribe (and occasional “Dexter” writer) Melissa Rosenberg.

The Halloween wrap is perfectly timed to coincide with what will likely be the start of a massive publicity push leading into the release of “New Moon” on November 20. “Eclipse” is currently set for a June 30, 2010 release, a fact which I’m sure that many of you readers are already well aware of. So mark those calendars if you haven’t already, and prepare for an increasing onslaught of “Eclipse” news as the wheels spin faster and faster.

I for one am soooooo SUPER excited that I will probably see pictures from the Eclipse shoot on my BIRTHDAY (which is right before Halloween)…. quick everyone shout YAY LOL

FEARnet: Vamps on Film – Top Fan-Made ‘Twilight’ Videos

We set out to round up a few of the craziest and creepiest fan-made Twilight videos, but quickly found that there are so many we couldn’t begin to narrow them down ourselves. So we contacted experts from some of the top Twilight fansites and asked for their take on the most inspired videos out there.

Below are their top selections in no particular order.  The Twi-hards behind these videos will be happy to note that multiple sites were fans of the same videos.  So sit back, sink your teeth into all the undead goodness and tell us you think.

Bellasdiary.com sent in this fan-made Twilight parody from two Twi-guys (that’s right, guys!) It’s an ode to how they can’t quite measure up to Edward. They get credit for trying…

TwilightLexicon.com submitted a fan favorite that got votes for best tribute and best spoof from many of the experts we asked. I think you’ll agree that the Hillywood Show team did an incredible job recreating the pivotal Twilight lunchroom scene and making it hilarious. Their Edward is pretty cute too!

Confession of a TwiCrack Addict, the Twilight site that gets first prize for the most unabashedly fanatical name, listed three different videos by tiffany666. I picked the second of her New Moon trailers and I think you’ll agree it’s very dramatic. Another site said the first version of the video gave them ‘chills.’

Check out another of tiffanyd666’s trailers send in by TwilightersAnonymous.com. This one is for Eclipse and pits Bella against Victoria’s vampire army. This fangirl certainly loves to bring the drama (and the calligraphy).

HisGoldenEyes.com has something for all the Edward fans out there. It’s ToxicExistance’s  2-minute montage of the most mouth-watering Edward moments. According to them, the video is “Very Edward-y, if you will.”  I do believe we will.

Sorry Team Jacob, you really lose out on this one.

Finally, put yourself in Edward’s extremely stylish shoes for just a moment. LionandLamblove.org nominated kelfheart’s “Come Walk with Me” video which tells the story of Bella and Edward’s break-up from Edward’s tortured and dreamy point of view.

I recognized a lot of those videos before I posted this article, they’ve been seen on here before. I’m glad that they’re getting recognition because they’re all so ubber awesome. What do you think? Any particular video that you think is missing? If so, send it in and we’ll post about it!

Another Fanmade New Moon Trailer

This fanmade New Moon trailer from YouTube user  AngryChckProductions, is freaking amazing. It’s so wonderful to see someone utilizing Taylor Lautner as Jacob rather than having Steven Strait replacing him. This video is definitely REALLY REALLY awesome.

What do you think? Think Summit should take her under their wing to add to the Official New Moon Trailer that’ll be out on televisions everywhere?
