Alex Meraz On Rachel Ray

Alex Meraz’s wife is one lucky lady. Not only is she married to the exceptionally attractive (and talented) “New Moon” actor, but she’ll soon have a tricked out kitchen courtesy of Rachael Ray. All her husband had to do was go on “The Rachael Ray Show,” mention how big of a fan she is, and Rachael vowed to outfit the Meraz family with cookware. Apparently, when it comes to the cooking maven-turned-daytime talk show host, flattery will get you everywhere. (Note to all future Rachael Ray guests: compliment the host profusely. It will pay off in the form of cookbooks and kitchenware.) Rachael Ray kicked off the “New Moon” countdown to November 20 talk show bonanza (yes, Hollywood Crush will be covering all the cast appearances on talk shows under our handy feature “Twilight Watch”) with Alex’s appearance on her show, and grilled the actor on his “Twilight” experience. Alex said his history with dance and martial arts helped prepare him for the role of Wolf Pack member Paul. “He’s volatile, he’s scrappy, he just carries his weight differently. He’s a fighter. I thought it was so appropriate with my background.” Another thing Alex could’ve done to prepare for his role in “New Moon” was parade around half-naked all the time, because it seems like that’s how people want to see him. “I’m shirtless always. As soon as I got ‘Twilight’ it was ‘Don’t wear any clothes — just shorts — and you’ll be fine.'” Though throngs of screaming girls surrounding her husband could make a woman a little jealous, Alex said his wife is his “biggest supporter.” Their 19-month-old son, Somak, helps keep him grounded. “He has a massive head. When he walks, he looks like he’s kind of drunk, he’s trying to balance himself.” Though I set my DVR expecting Alex to be on today’s show, the three unsuspecting superfans whom Rachael gave makeovers to look like Bella, Rosalie, and Alice (including spot-on hairstyles) had no idea he was there. So when he came out and hugged them, all they could do to react was stand there with their mouths hanging open in shock. Adorable!

More News On Ashley Greene’s Maxim Cover

The ladies have gotten plenty of chances to swoon over magazine covers with their favorite “New Moon” stars on them. (May we remind you about last week’s Harper’s Bazaar frenzy and yesterday’s mania over Taylor Lautner on Men’s Health?) Now, guys (and devoted boyfriends and/or husbands out there who read Hollywood Crush purely to, you know, “stay up-to-date” with their girls) it’s your turn to drool.

Little Miss Alice Cullen (known to those non-“Twilight” fans left in the world as Ashley Greene) transformed into a smoldering cover girl for Maxim magazine’s December issue (on sale Nov. 17). Her photos aren’t too far of a stretch from her character’s typical cutesy persona though and she describes Alice as “sweet, sexy, and a killer!”

Ashley admits that getting the role made her about as giddy as Alice gets when she gives people birthday presents. “When they told me I got it, I tried to play it all cool, you know, for about a minute,” she recalled. “Because suddenly the ‘Twilight’ blogs started picking it up, and then fans were there taking photos, and I’m on the news, and I was like, ‘what?’ And then I got really nervous.”

Obviously, those nerves have subsided a little bit — just look at her on Maxim’s from and back (see it below) covers! That’s all confidence! We bet she learned a thing or two about standing tall from the set of “Eclipse” where she got to take her aggression out … on other people. “Yeah, I get to fight in Eclipse,” she told the mag. “My trainer is teaching me MMA right now. So. Cool. But I feel if I was in a real fight, I’d get my ass kicked…We’re just now moving up to more advanced stuff, toward being able to actually kick somebody’s ass. The problem is, I know tae kwon do, so I’m used to just sort of tapping for points when you kick, but MMA is a full knock-them-to-the ground follow-through.”

That training might come in handy when she goes after her dream role. “I want to hit up James Bond,” she said. “That would be awesome.”

UK New Moon Event

Robert Pattinson had all our attention when he arrived at the London press events with a big smile, but of course Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were close behind! Kristen showed up covered up in a warm coat, but stripped it off to show off a unique dress to pose with her boys — what do you think of her red carpet look, love it or hate it? The trio posed together, but of course we can’t stop smiling at seeing Rob and Kristen with their arms around each other after last night’s OMG moment of being spotted holding hands.
